About ABI

Soil microbial products, manufactured in Wisconsin since 2005

From our 20,000-square-foot fermentation facility in Wisconsin, USA, eight fermenters produce thousands of pounds of high-CFU powder each month, with ample capacity for growing bulk and private-label programs.

We produce an extensive portfolio of beneficial bacteria and fungi, from Bacillus subtilis and Bacillus megaterium to Trichoderma harzianum and Aspergillus niger, each maintained in our proprietary strain library and produced under strict quality protocols. By manufacturing in-house and shipping factory-direct, we give growers, formulators, and distributors reliable access to consistent single strains and custom blends.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is a microbial inoculant, and how is it different from a biofertilizer?
A microbial inoculant is a product of living beneficial bacteria or fungi applied to soil, seed, or roots to support root development, nutrient availability, and soil biology. A biofertilizer describes the same kind of product from a plant-nutrition angle, using microbes that help make nutrients such as nitrogen and phosphorus more available to the crop. In practice the terms overlap, and our high-CFU inoculants are used as both across row crops, specialty crops, and turf.
How are microbial inoculants used, and how are they applied?
Our inoculants ship as high-CFU powders that dissolve for application by soil drench, seed treatment, in-furrow, fertigation, or foliar programs. Growers and formulators select the strains and rates that fit their crop and equipment, and blends can be matched to a specific crop or region. Because you set the CFU count, the same strain works in a concentrated input or in a finished branded product.
How do I get pricing, and can I request a sample?
Request a quote through our contact form with the strains, blend, CFU count, and volume you need, and we will send factory-direct pricing and documentation. 50g samples are available on request for evaluation. Wholesale and bulk pricing applies to qualifying programs.
Do you sell microbial inoculants in bulk and offer private label?
Yes. We manufacture in bulk from our own U.S. fermentation facility and supply distributors, formulators, and large growers at wholesale pricing. We also produce private-label microbial inoculants and biofertilizers, formulated and packaged to your specification so you can build a branded portfolio.
What CFU counts are available?
You set the potency. We manufacture high-CFU powders and match the CFU per gram your program or formulation requires, whether you need a concentrated single strain or a component for a larger blend. Every lot ships with a Certificate of Analysis that states the CFU count.
Are your microbes non-GMO and suitable for organic production?
All ABI strains are naturally occurring and non-GMO, which makes them well suited to certified-organic and regenerative programs. The same ABI-produced microbes are used as components in OMRI Listed formulations. We can advise on which strains fit your certification requirements.
How do you verify strain identity and quality?
We confirm the identity and purity of every strain in house before it ships, and each batch is produced under strict quality protocols with its potency verified. Results are documented on a Certificate of Analysis that ships with every lot, and all strains are held in a proprietary in-house library so identity stays consistent from batch to batch.
Do you ship internationally, and how should inoculants be stored?
Yes. We ship factory-direct from our Wisconsin facility to growers, formulators, and distributors worldwide. Store the powders in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight, keep them sealed after opening, and use them within the shelf life stated on the Certificate of Analysis to protect microbial viability.
Where are ABI's microbial inoculants manufactured?
All ABI microbial inoculants and biofertilizers are manufactured in the United States, at our 20,000-square-foot fermentation facility in Wisconsin. Producing in Wisconsin lets us control quality end to end, from our proprietary strain library through fermentation, DNA verification, and packaging. Buyers get consistent, U.S.-made soil microbial products backed by documentation on every lot.
